Ljubljana Illustration

I enjoy using illustration as a way of story-telling, to convey an idea (or many) that may not be as easy or effective in a photographic way. This illustration is of a riverside section of Ljubljana, in the capital of Slovenia. I was captivated by the scenery and European architecture amongst its historical centres. I wanted to capture the character of its mixed used architecture whilst exploring my skills in colour selection, pattern making and simplification of somewhat detailed façades. Practising these skills have contributed to success in my professional work such as when creating illustrative infographics, event material and branding.
